Senior media aide to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, has disclosed that trapped Nigerian citizens in war-torn Sudan are expected to be moved to a safe place between Sunday and Monday by the federal government.
Mr. Shehu disclosed this on Sunday on his Twitter handle @Garshehu.
He said the federal government is making all efforts to ensure that students and other Nigerians in the country are moved to a safe place between today and tomorrow
According to him, “The Nigerian government has been having sleepless nights following the ongoing crisis in Sudan.
“Our officials are doing a lot, coordinating with the Embassy in Khartoum, the Sudanese and Ethiopian governments trying to ensure the safety of the large number of our citizens there.
“Minister Geoffrey Onyeama who is coordinating these efforts is optimistic that they will start moving people to safety as soon as possible.”
